Unlike some people, I never knew what I wanted to do. I never had a goal in mind to be a doctor or a lawyer or a business executive (as the song 'Little Boxes' quotes!)
I always had ideas and thoughts but never could decide, it felt like closing a door which I didn't like the idea of. Things like nursing, teaching, childcare, singing, outdoorsy stuff and photography.
They always told us at school to do what we enjoyed, for me, that meant the arts: music: through the choirs and the musicals and history of art, as well as a photography club.
But outside of school, I started filming and editing and taking a hell of a lot of photographs.
and now I realise that is what I want to do.
Last night, I went to a wedding and shot all the footage for their video, as well as some photographs, it was a beautiful night and I was so happy for them, and also so happy to be filming for them.
I want to create and edit and compose, I want to film and direct.
It feels so good to know now but at the same time, so many other people want to do the same thing, so many other people are more talented, so many other people have the same dream.
But this is what I want to do, so I will try my best. All I've ever wanted in the world of work is to do something I enjoy. Is that so much to ask?
What are your thoughts?

PS Can I also add how much I love weddings, celebrating the love and commitment between two people, while surrounded by their closest friends and family, it was beautiful! And also it is highly entertaining watching drunk people dance towards the end of the night. Congratulations to the happy couple!

The most wonderful time of year....
Christmas is my favourite: family time, Christmas music, festive head wear, lots of games and so much food and it is always so much fun!
This year was extra special, after living away from home for the first time and getting to come back and be swept away in the festive spirit! It is so nice to be back with family and friends and to spend time with them.
The past week has been so wonderful:
Wednesday: Woke up in my own comfy bed happy to be home, with a cat by my side, hung out with my sister (Lula) in the morning and then reunited with my one of my best friends in the afternoon, we did some Christmas shopping, had hysterics about talking key rings and caught up, in the evening, Lula and I decorated the 'tree of horrors' (as is tradition) while listening to festive music, and decided to rename it the 'leaning tower of horrors' due to the awkward way it stands on an angle.

Winter Wonderland adventures with Lici and Dari, + chocolate strawberries |
our walk, from embankment to tower bridge along with London lights, delicious juice and somerset house stop off. All with Eilean. |
Strictly party with the crescent. |

Our dance party at the end of the silent film! |
Tuesday (Christmas Day): Our Family woke up at around 9 and we all sat around, giving gifts and opening presents together with the cats, then after eating chocolate for breakfast (tradition), we all got dressed and started preparing the food and clearing up the house (I was on parsnip duty), and then went over to our neighbours house for drinks and festivity, we chatted and ate and drank and mama managed to tip a plate of dips face down on the floor which caused widespread hilarity/mess. I love the neighbours so much! After having my hair curled by K and C, I went back to our house and our family started arriving, we all sat around chatting and singing for hours, didn't finish Christmas lunch until about 6 when we started at 2.30pm, had a delicious dinner, ate so much, had an hour long conversation about male pattern baldness (don't ask), did the mobot in sync, played cards, gave gifts (and received some beautiful things) and just enjoyed each other's company! I love Christmas Day, after Doctor who and a sad episode of Call the Midwife and a cold walk around the neighbourhood, the extended family headed home and Mama and I watched Nativity! and laughed our faces off! Christmas to me, is about family and it was so lovely to see everyone and spend the day with all of us together just being jolly and festive :)

Things I'm thankful for, this week.
This week, I'm thankful for:
-The fact that I'm flying home tomorrow! To be reunited, with my family, cats, friends and english food/chocolate (hehe).
-A helpful and caring host mother, who is lovely and looked after me when I was feeling my worst and just wanted to be at home with my real mother.
-My mother who listened to me at all hours when I just needed someone to talk to (being ill in a foreign place is lonely :( ....)
-Sweet Italians.
-A friend who I can call up for coffee dates and riverside walks
-The Sparkly Christmas lights.
-The Christmas Tree and homemade decorations.
-The snow, sticking around for over a week!
-TEA (English Breakfast of course)
-Books (kept me interested this week while in bed!) - especially Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard.
-The Prospect of seeing friends, and being in London
-Christmas is COMING!
-Festive Music (being played on repeat!)

Blogs I love to read.
Ciao!
Decided I want to start blogging again! Especially since I want to remember lots of little details of this year - I'm living in Italy as an Au pair and desperately trying to learn the language.
Blogs I have been loving lately:
http://www.frauleinlouise.tumblr.com/ - My sister! Of course, has to be top of the list! She writes so beautifully and her photographs are so gorgeous! If you go back in the archives, you will find all her posts from living in Germany last year! Check it out!
http://www.ciderwithrosiebee.blogspot.co.uk/ - for appreciating all the little things in life, her cute puppy. little letters + all her food posts which make me want to try new recipes and cook more.
http://www.wisteriamusings.tumblr.com/ - The blog of my Ahh-mazingly talented sistuh/friend across the pond, who is the most wonderful artist and photographer! Can't wait to reunite one day soon!
http://www.oliviaraejames.com/blog/ - I have read her blog for years, love her creative photographs and honest musings! also, love her travel films and tips, especially those about Europe - very relevant these days!
http://www.halcyonyeah.blogspot.co.uk/ - A lovely blog. But not updated very much any more!
http://www.taza-and-husband.blogspot.co.uk/ - Just love her photographs and anecdotes about her life (and very cute kids) also the way she documented her recent trip to Italy just as I moved there! (perfect timing)
http://www.sprinkleofglitter.blogspot.co.uk/ -I love her YouTube videos, she has such a fun personality and her little baby is so sweet! Her blog is wonderful too, especially love all the festive posts at the moment! Louise is awesome!
http://www.ellieundone.blogspot.it/ - I highly enjoy this blog, she has recently moved abroad (like me!) and it is nice to read about someone going through the same things as I am, as well as her very useful Paris travel tips and musings about life.
http://www.steveandjessmarcum.blogspot.it/ - I love lifestyle blogs, and this one is of a beautiful family living near Boston (i think), and they have a new baby. I like seeing what life is like on the other side of the pond and their baby is beyond cute! She also makes lots of crafts which inspire me to be more creative!
http://www.mrsbeeblogs.blogspot.co.uk/ - has lots of christmassy posts at the moment! Makes me feel festive and excited to get back to my family!
http://www.charlotteswebblog.co.uk/ - her conversations posts are hilarious and just love her outlook and comments on things! Also she's a cat lover!
I read a few others too, but I could sit here all night and write about how I love each one but alas, there is packing to be done, videos to be edited and tea to be drunk! I'm not particulary good at this blgging thing but will hopefully get better with time!
